The forum page of any newspaper is an anthropological treasure box of the zeitgeist, the vox populi, and the mundane.
The main paper may be well written, carry informative articles brilliantly analysed and researched and cogently argued and presented.
But it is the forum page that tells you what is bugging the common man, the lesser mortals, the rats in the rat race. It is the voice of the man on the street presented without the courtesy of a breath freshener.
And the self-serving, self-important, selfish, self-centred letters are so obvious and oblivious that they are quite sad. Funny, but sad.
Maybe I'm being cruel, but I need my laughs too.
